PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Scope of work issued by the client: The City of Toronto owns and operates eleven solid waste transfer stations throughout the Greater Toronto Area and in 2015 the City decided that to update the compaction equipment at these facilities. The equipment had reached the end of its useful service life and by upgrading its fleet of compactors it would be able to meet its projected solid waste processing demands for the next 20 to 30 years.

Reaction Distributing Inc. worked closely with the City and their engineering consultants to create a transfer station design that met all of their key requirements with respect to speed, structural integrity and service life longevity. A set of detailed “as built” drawings was created and through our systems integration approach we were able to not only create the design that they needed; but also incorporate the design into a set of site specific drawings. This allowed the City to check “the fit” of the equipment in the existing buildings before any building retrofit work was started.
