PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Scope of work issued by the client: all waste and recyclables generated by the new facility above the ground floor were to be conveyed directly from each floor into the trash compactors. The hospital’s method of choice was an industrial vacuum system that would provide staff with access points on each floor and enable them to quickly and efficiently transport waste items from the point of generation directly to the compactors. RDI’s role was to design, manufacture and install trash compactors that would be able to process all wastes deposited from the vacuum system as well as all of the ground floor waste that had to be transported to the compactors by staff in standard waste transfer carts. The creation of special air lock chambers and hydraulic cart tipping systems enabled RDI to successfully accomplish these goals.
